Many times students feel like they dont fit in or belong in that particular environment or group. At times its difficult, but the great thing about being a educator is that we were all students , so we ca share our pass experiences as well as present ones, to help motivate them. AT we may have to play a freind role rather than authority.

Participation

Sometimes during active learning some students are still not motivated to learn. I would break them up in groups and let them all participate competiting against each other for a few extra points towards their lowest exam grades which they find very fun and educated at the same time.

helping student with learning disabilities

In one of my class i have a student wtih learning disability, at the beginnig of the course she inform me of her issue.I gave her tips on study guides,and how to re-write word contents at least five times, and use flash cards to help her. Any suggestions?
