I feel that active learning is defined as "anything that involves students doing things and thinking about the things they are doing". Active learning encourages students to find ways to strengthen their resilience. Helps students become more determined when solving problems.
There are many different learning styles, and you need to figure out which one would work best for you and your students. I also learn the different formats of lectures.
The first impression is the last impression. Learn each individual student by their first name, or how they prefer to be called. Give them insight on your professional experience. Create a checklist and come up with an icebreaker.
Always be prepared. Know your textbooks, know your handout materials and create a check off list for yourself on things to do.
The 5 “C’s” (credible, candid, compassionate, committed and clear). Always lead by example, be on time, prepared, and maintain a professional environment.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
