I have noticed that at my campus at least that we have in place many of the things that were outlined in this module.

I found this module to be a useful reminder of the importance of using active listening skills and goal setting. It also never hurts to throw some compassion in there along the way.

In the environment that we teach in it is difficult to vary the instruction method. It it prescribed for us, but I have noticed that many of my students seem to learn more in the hands on portion than during the lecture/presentation. How might I present the prescibed information to many different learning styles.

I think that it is of the utmost importance to project a high level of professionalism for the new instructor. That is one thing that you have absolute control over as you develop your style, and specifically to UTI, learn how to present the content in the manner that is outlined. I believe that students will respect you more if they see you as consistent in your mannerisms and approach. Which can in turn lead to a better learning environment.
