I'll have to say communication is the key to success for everyone in an online envionment. I communicate via email and announcements at least four times per week. I also send "motivation" emails to students, but also provided in-depth feedback on papers to help them improve on their skills for the following weeks.  In all, the more we can give our students, the more successful they can be!!
