Activity
It is easy to drift into a one hour monoluge during chat sessions. Stopping to ask questions increases engagement tremendously.
I plan to use the revision techniques discussed in this course to improve my own teaching performance in the classes I teach. While it has obvious use in designing courses, the class was also valuable as a means of improving ones own teaching performance.
I find the most challenging element is getting students to the interactive portion of the class. Once a student attends a chat, or replies in the Forum, they tend to stay a part of the class.
