Going over the quiz/final

I go over the quiz's as soon they finish taking them, the students seem to like this. This gives them the chance to ask any questions they might have about the quiz.

Hi Miguel:
Immediate feedback is a good way to conduct quizzes. Students can clarify where they may have erred, and the correct information gets emphasized. I agree students like to get their grades on quizzes and tests as soon as possible.

I totally agree with your response of going over the exam after it is graded. It allows the students to get immediate feedback and to prevent future problems!!!

Going over the quiz or final allows the student to understand any questions they may have missed and to also prepare students for the final exam. Students become very frustrated when they missed the same question twice.

I try to do the same as well. This helps them to be able to review the material and to see how well they did. Also, it helps them to, hopefully, retain this information, since often times the material is cumulative.

Hi Dorrell:
Thanks. I don't think prention of future problems will always occur, but they will surely be diminished, and students will be immediately corrected on information they may be weak in or need extra study.

Hi Mia:
Rapid review of tested information provides immediate clarification or correction in the thinking process unless it mere recall information - in that case just more study or review beforehand is all that is needed.

I agree. Going over the exam after its graded will help the student know where they are weak and need work.

Early clarification of errors made will help the student to move on to the next project/topic, improve their method of study and do a better job of studying.

This time offers an early opportunity to give help and support tips on how to prepare for the next exam.

Reviewing the tests and any wrong answers right away helps students replace the "bad info" with "good info" immediately.

Hi Sandi:
Great. I do this and I think it is very effective. I call it "on-course correction", meaning, continuing to move forward makiung corrections along the way.

Hi Maureen:
Regular and timely reveiw, clarification and/or correction, and discussion about why missed questions were not the best choice helps students stay current while in motion with their ongoing studies.

Hi Gretchen:
This approach seems to work well for theose teachers that use it.

Regards, Barry

I agree, reviewing exams is agreat way to review what was learned.

Hi Jessica:
As teachers we have to measure progress. So, if we're going to quiz, to me, it only makes sense to keep them succinct, to the point and relevant, and then review them immediately so that I can guide my students down the right path.

Today my class helped me understand this fact as well....rapid responce is more effective than a delayed

Hi Pricilla:
I think it's just basic student nature to want to know how they are doing in a particular class or assignmemnt. I'm sure your studnts appreciate it when you are able to get their reults back to them quickly. It also helps the teacher know if more work is needed in a given area.

Regards, Barry

I agree as well; I usually review my quizes with the class during the same class session or the next session. This helps students remember and understand the content.

Hi Laura:
Good. The sooner students get corrective feedback about their assessment performance, the sooner they can make needed adjustments in their study habits or areas that need more attention.

Regards, Barry

This is a good idea. They can ask questions they have about the quiz while it is fresh in their head.
