Test Review
My policy is to review quizzes immediately after ir is taken. This allows my students to know immediately what they got wrong and have an opportunity to explain why they chose that option. It gives me an opportunity to teach them how to read and dissect nursing questions that require aqdvanced critical thinking skills. It also helps me to better understand why a question may be problematic and need to be revisedin the future and be dropped on this test.
Rosemary,
Great! Immediate review works for all the reasons you state. I also think students appreciate knowing their scores and their instructor taking time to reinforce learning (or clarify mistakes). I too have found question errors and make corrections (or discard/redo the question) before further use.

I do the same. I have go over the exam on the same day and discuss any questions or problems they had. I make adjustments to questions on later test if needed.
Jessica,
Students want and need rapid feedback. Corrections and/or clarification is best handled as soon as possible immediately following any graded activity.

I give back and review exams the same day. I think that it helps the students if they did poorly and also helps me as an instructor.
Priscilla,
I agree and think it's vital that students get their tests back ASAP. Sometimes a question is disputed and the opportunity to clarify mistaken understanding is best when done while the information is fresh. Also, I'll sometimes find bad questions or typographical errors, and I want to be able to correct these as well so as to not repeat the bad information.
