I try to use you tube to show different massage techniques and modalities in our field....as well as Facebook and all the informative pages such as Anatomy in Motion and essential oil pages.

Services like E-companion and Moodle have really helped with sharing files, links and generating discussions. It's nice because it's asynchronous and can be used remotely.

after discussing the topic on powerpoint I then give the students time to find on the internet a relevant video or story.

I have been using you tube videos after a lecture. it gives the students a break from the lecture as well as reinforcing what has been taught visually.

I have been able to incorporate: smart board, overhead projector, DVDs, videos, power points, discussion boards, let students take a photo of notes on board, go to a websites that I use to enhance the lesson.

Like many of my colleagues I do use PowerPoint Presentations. However; I do switch to straight lecture every other day or so to engage my auditory learners. I also bring equipment so my tactile students can participate by having close contact with for instance anesthetic machines, defibrillators and the like.
I feel that too many PPP's and the students get bored or just plain go to sleep.

I have used smart phones in the classroom - typically on exams. For example, there may be a bonus question at the end of an exam that requires the student to use their smart phone to research the answer. I generally do not worry about students using their smart phones during class or during an exam as I have not seen an appreciable difference in test outcomes. That is, if smart phones are being used to cheat on an exam, then it has not shown itself in improved scores.

I find it very difficulty at times to integrate technology when students are not allowed to have cell phones in the classroom. But, some ways that I do integrate technology is putting assessments online or in Engrade.

This week the class kept asking questions about the Ebola virus, which I was happy to answer, but, I realized we could use our computer lab to explore this topic further. I gave them the project of finding the history of Ebola, how it was contracted, cures and vaccines if any, etc...
The outcome was a success! Everyone really enjoyed discovering new information and the following day they had the chance to discuss their findings. There was 100% involvement!

There are a number of ways I integrate technology into my courses. One way in particular is using the internet. A lot of our course work goes over surgical procedures so students are required to watch videos that will provide them with a better understanding of the textbook material.

Teaching IT classes I already have the technology in the class so there is not a lot to integrate.

My audio production classes are full of technology. We use the equipment and go through my PowerPoints (lots of pictures!).
I create movies from my Power Points with recorded voice overs, and also record video of demonstrating equipment.

I love integrating technology into my classes! I always receive a positive response to the activities. Students love technology and they are eager and excited to participate when activities include some form of technology. I have used sites such as Kahoot.it, Prezi, and Socrative. My campus does not provide training for this; I have searched these out on my own and have implemented them into each of my classes. I have also used PowerPoint-based games such as Jeopardy with great success.

Power point presentations, research on specific topics related to the subject or lesson, and let them give information on anything new to technology that they know that could benefit the learning in the classroom.

I have incorporated computer games to prepare for exams.

Paul,

Have you tried "Prezi"? This is an alternative, electronic presentation software that can be used to enhance the lecture.

I use MS PowerPoint, as well as YouTube videos to show students steps in how to do certain procedures. I also send them to other Veterinary Colleges' websites for reference, as well as continuing education course websites.

This way, by using several types of internet sources (YouTube, Veterinary college websites, online Continuing Education sites), I can reinforce the student's knowledge, and they hear it from another source other than myself.

I use PowerPoint for all of my lectures. I try to incorporate a short YouTube video or an Excel Worksheet into each class as well. Are there any creative ideas out there on how to integrate technology further into a Health Care Management course?

The managerial accounting course I teach has certain components that deal with ethics and ethical behaviors. I integrate video clips into that lecture to help the students understand the value of ethics and ethical behavior from real world experience.
I also use power point with guided notes to bring mundane topics to life. Accounting is not very exciting to non-accounting students so every little bit helps with keeping attention on topic.
