my style

my medical students say I am "crazy" in a classroom lecture but I like to think I am "unique". If I have to jump around the room, sing songs to get them to understand the material......then I do it.

education must be first and foremost fun....at all times...that is how they retain and remember

Kathleen,
This is one of those "do whatever it takes" type of deals. Go for it! I always enjoy instructors that are willing to get out there in terms of their delivery and student engagement.

I think that is the best way to get material across. When I was a student, my favorite teachers were the "unique" type. I am new to teaching and I hope to do the same.

Joy,
It is good you have some role models you can look to as you develop your own instructional style. I wish you much success and welcome you to the profession of education.

I completely agree with both of you. I try to keep my method of teaching as fun as possible, while still having the material understood. Being fun in the classroom helps to keep the students awake and eager to learn.

I agree with you mary my biggest fear is a student leaving my class and still not understanding the course
