Getting started
I really enjoyed this part of the program. Especially because I have always been a true believer in making a good first impression. And, also setting the stage for a friendly class atmosphere.
You also get the chance to set exspectations.
It is right. On the first day, the very first impressions created by you can be long-lasting, and they are usually based on a thin slice of behavior. There is alot of networking among students, so your students will have already made some decisions about you, so it is important to understand what those impressions.

So true. It is so much easier to set a positive tone the first day than spend the rest of the course trying to correct a bad impression. Good planning will set the stage for a positive first impression.
