Order of the first class agenda
How important is it to do things in the order listed in the "game" for this module?
I know that some things should come before others (introductions before in depth discussion of the course requirements) but I found that many of the things in the list seemed a give or take for which comes first. Is it really important to discuss my accessibility before I take attendance? Or to show the text before I give a course overview?
Collin,
Good question about the order of working through the list. The answer is there is no set order. As you work through how you want to conduct your own classes you will find an order that works for you and your students. This is the order you want to follow. The list is meant only as a suggestion so you will be sure to include all of the key elements of getting a course off to a good start.

One of the things I consider most important is the safety information. Since you never know when a serious problem will occur, it makes sense to give the emergency procedures as early as possible. I was surprised when this step was so far down the list.
Mike,
I agree with you about the concern to cover safety issues. The list is not in any order it is just a list of items to be covered. Instructors can look at the list and then develop one for themselves that fits with the course they teach and how they want to approach the first class meeting.

Having a agenda is key to becoming a Master teacher. I believe planning is the most important component to successful instruction.
Jermaine,
This is a very important part of the educational process for instructors. Having a professional development plan in place that will help you to get to where you want to be as an effective and efficient instructor.
