movies
videos & movies cover a lot of stuff.
Yes I ues videos in my class for all topecs if I can. my students get a lot of good info from the videos.
I have a few videos incorparated into the Prof. Service Writing. Although they are dated - their points are valid and most of the students respond to this and gain form them.
I FIND that visual is worth a thousand words.
can explain the varios makeup looks step by step
along the way. Also have students ask questions,so we can be more complete with the visual picture.
I use movies as well. The movies I use reinforce what I had just previously presented and allows the students to see what I was explaining to them. Explaining a procedure isn't enough. Sometimes they need a demonstration. In my classes that is what the movies cover. They are a visual for how to perform a given task.
I also use videos,it helps students understand the powerpoint and lectures.
When I was teaching English courses, I used videos for parts of speech and essay's the students found the questions easier to answer and could relate to the video vs lectures and reading.
We do have a generation of youth who have grown up with the video world. Recently I was thrilled to see that my 34 year old has been reading great literature and really enjoying it.(I had given up!).
Yes using videos is a great way to reinforce the subject matter.
