Testing Type
I use several different formats in each test so that I can see using some higher-level learning. It also creates some interest in the test. They are not getting board with just one style.
HI Dolly - Thanks for your post to the forum. I agree - students do like tests that have some variety. I think they actually perform better as well. Sometimes, for example, in an assessmsnt that is all T/F students whiz through too quickly making mistakes on material they actually do know. Best wishes - Susan
I do the same thing with my classes. It is usually a mixture of short answer, multiple choice, T/F, filling in the blank, and matching depending on what type of material I covered for that section
I enjoy teaching courses that are mostly hands-on. My students are usually very excited to "show me" what they have learned and how well they are doing with it.
Hi Kelley - What is your preferred learning style? Are you kinesthetic? Best wishes - Susan
Do you give them a test at the end,if so what kind do you use.
HI Tim - Good question! I usually give a comprehensive final to make sure that the competencies identifed in the curriculum have been achieved. The type of test depends on the course i am teaching but usually I like to mix it up a bit. Best wishes for continued successin your teaching career. Susan
I usually give a curriculum based test at the end of the course covering everything that we have learned in class.
I tend to always use multiple choice question tests because of the large amount of information we cover in such a short period of time. I will definitely try using different formats in my future classes.
