learnativity

you should use as many props cutaways as you can. talk about your experience on the job and subject. so pictures movies demonstrate tasks ask for assistance with show and tell. ask for there stories or experiances.

I like your content and ideas. As for "learnativity" and its' definition, I think such would be a great motivator presented at the start of the class. It is an idea they and the instructor should keep in mind at all times. "To be an active participant in the acquiring of new information, knowledge, and skills that will enable the learner to move from novice to an expert level with confidence" offers them a guide and motivation at the same time.

Hi Julie,
Thank you for the comments about how we can provide motivation for our students. Learnativity is a form of the carrot on a stick just as you say. It helps to keep the vision out there for them to see where they can go with the education they are receiving.

I agree that by reinforcing how they will benefit by learning keeps students interested and motivated. They like to hear about material things they will gain when they master a new skill and enter the job market.

Hi Leslie,
This part of the learning process is so important. You are helping to "connect the dots" between the classroom and the upcoming real world work situation. The more they can see the connection, application and relevancy the better they will be prepared to be successful.
