Encouragement and support enables a student to succeed.
Elena,
This is something they needed to be reminded of throughout the course. Learning is not like a microwave where things are cooked in seconds. Learning takes time and effort so they need to be focused on the long haul leading to successful program completion.

I usually remind students what nothing happened othernight; a lot of them want an immediate result, and usually if they understand everything takes time, especially learning and success, they are ready for slow achievement.
Sometimes that is all a student needs is to be encouraged and them knowing that someone is there to support them in their coursework. most students come around and complete the course with satisfactory progress once they are able to "talk it out" with a support personnel in the school. As a instructor, it is a good idea to always "push the student forward" when they get stuck, reminding them to persist because they have learned so much already and the course will be over shortly where they will be able to implement what they learned soon.
