I tend to enter class full of energy and the students will begin to show a little energy, but I also find when I smile at them or speak pleasant to them they respond better to me.

If you keep bringing it to the classroom the students will start to "catch" it as well. Enthusiasm does spread just as does boredom. We got to make sure that our excitement keeps boredom at bay.
