Instructor's Enthusiam for their profession
The enthusiasm of the instructor comes for loving what you do and also being great at it. Your emotions for your career is shown to your students thru the teaching and energy while teaching
Felicia,
Good point. We catch excitement from others and as the learning leader of our students we need to project such enthusiasm each time we step into a classroom or lab.

I have learn that making a living is not the same as making a life.
Arisa,
This is a very good point that students frequently need help in understanding.

I always begin every day with the students as it was the first day of class. I ask them if they are enjoying themselves and learning during labs motivating them and stirring excitement.
Kathy,
Good way to help them get settled in and for them to realize that you are excited about being their learning leader whether it is the first class meeting or the fifteen. Each day is a fresh start for learning.

It is the instructors passion for the field, knowledge of subject matter and enthusiasm that keeps them coming back. Through exciting lectures and activities that transition into each other, that's what keeps them coming back. And the end of everyday when we are just about to get to the next activity......time runs out. And that's how an enthusiastic instructor " sets the hook".
Present the students with current event information about their career choices and industry news and how it relates to the class. Helps to ground them from the start.
Renee,
This information is a great way to increase their motivation because they start to see what is ahead of them. This helps to make the course content come alive and have value to them and their future.
