Will knowing your students by thier names help build relationship between the instructor and the student?
Calling students by name immediately at the beginning of a course has done much to indicate to students that I care about them individually and to increase my credibility as a teacher of students and not just of information
It has been my experience that students feel valued when I take the time to learn their names. It helps build the relationship between instructor and student.
I have seen students who the instructors know them by name they are more apt to perform for the instructor and excited to be in school.
