stresses at home verses stress at work
I feel I don't have enough support at home to sustain the stress at work at times. I am attempting new strategies to aid in this matter. wish me luck
Julie, That sounds like a tough situation. Sometimes the expectations we have of support from home do not match reality. When this is the case, we've got to draw on sources of support from elsewhere. Perhaps you have friends or extended family who could help.

There are true pressures from work and home.I have found that consistant time dedicated to "homework" seems to help. When at home doing all that I can helps also. There is no easy answers on this one. God speed!
There's no luck involved. You've got to love what you do and whom you're with. Change one or both. If you can't do that try yoga, running and/or a sip or two of your favorite beverage preferably in a congenial atmosphere.
Kenneth, So true. It's important to be passionate about your role and the people you work with. When we miss either of these things, it can be a real challenge and we need to rely on coping mechanisms like the ones you listed.

I think some of these stress reducing techniques will work even without anyone at home to help you. I think many of them will work with you doing them on your own! Good Luck to you!
Bonnie, Yes, there are so many techniques that we can do individually. Breathing, walking and stretching are all great examples. We can do these almost anywhere too, so no need to be at the house to benefit.

I don't have support at home either. I live in a state with no family closer that 1000 miles away. Just being alone has been stressful (many years now), but when I get "down", I call and talk with my son (now 32) and my fellow instructors and supervisors. They tend to lift my spirits quite well. I am good at leaving all this behind whenever I enter the classroom, however. For that, I am proud.
Gayle, That sounds like a unique and tough situation. Thank you for sharing. I am curious to hear if you have tried connecting with people online (beyond your work in this course) as an outlet. No matter where we live, if we have internet access, it is possible to find people like us.
