Word search

For long muscle terms and medical conditions works for students with language difficulties. They see the word over and over and if written, it often helps with the spelling by the end of the term.

Yes, I think it does help with spelling and focus. I 'mispell' the word 1-3 times in the wordsearch, and insist they find the one that is spelled correctly. When the exercise is over, they tend to find it gratifying and then remember how to spell the word.

Lisa, I like this deliberate "misspelling" to create awareness of the proper way to spell words.

I use crossword puzzles all the time and had a group actually ask for a wordsearch for a change of pace but I wanted them to learn more about the disorders so I described the condition as the clue and hid the actual term so it was a two step process to answer the clue and then find the word. I think they got more out of it than just looking for a word.

Lauren, I agree, making it a meaningful search is better than just circling words.
