Pictionary dry erase board version works great for visual learners
We have had great success using our dry erase board to play pictionary for our Medical Terminology class.
The students elected the best artist to do the drawings and then described the condition verbally and the auditory students shouted out the medical terms.
This sounds like a great way to get all students involved and it will work for both visual and auditory learners.
Pictionary is a wonderful and exciting tool for visual learners.
I've used the dry erase board to play pictionary and also, the hangman game using medical terminology words.
Another reason I like games like these for study purposes is that it includes discussion. My class has a lot of information to memorize and students have different ways of remembering the terms. When a group is involved in a study group like this students are able to hear what other students' ideas are, which may help them with their own memorizing.
Shannon, discussion and debriefing is an essential part of activities.

I like all the ideas for games. We play medical taboo. There are a few medical terms in the orignal game. I make my own cards for the terms we are learning that week or mod.
I have used a concept kind of similar to that of pictionary. I have a computer template that is set up for jeoprady that I insert pictures and sometimes just text into when we review for medical terminology tests. The pictures seem to get the students interest much better than text itself.
I used the dry erase board to play pictionary and my students loved it, now they are requesting to do it weekly.
Angela , if you have success with this method, it is important to continue to use it.
