Technical Tools

Technology in the class,

On Ground classes are changing the views with including technology in the classroom.

Online classes include greater access to rich, multimedia content, the increasing use of online coursetaking to offer classes not otherwise available, the widespread availability of mobile computing devices that can access the Internet, the expanding role of social networking tools for learning and professional development, and the growing interest in the power of digital games for more personalized learning.

At the same time, the pace of change creates significant challenges for schools.

Thank you,
Christopher Davis

Christopher,

I totally agree with you. The use of technology in my online course has greatly improved my f2f courses.

Christopher

You are right about mobile devices. I am receiving more emails from students now than 5 years ago because students use their phones to sent emails.

This is where I need more training, I am looking forward to do all of this in the near future. I will set up a goal for my self, at the end of 2013 I will proficient in all of this tools. I really up to this.

Abundio,

What a great attitude. Remember, you don't have to learn them all at once. I would suggest deciding on a task you want to do then learn the technology to do it.

Chris,
You said the following:

At the same time, the pace of change creates significant challenges for schools.

What do you think the challenges are? I think one of the issues is finding people who can design and maintain the technology. There seems to be a shortage of technical type people to work on these systems.

Dale,

You make a great point. Many times, the turnover in the technology area is great. It also can be a real challenge for smaller schools who don't have the resources.
