How do you know when others are accepting your feedback and they are effectively utilizing the feedback?
Hi Tu,
Good question! I typically utilize a three part plan:
1) I make sure that the one to accept the feedback has played a major role in collaborating what the feedback is and what it is supposed to address. That's not to say that my direction is discounted - only that the recipient has had the opportunity to express his or her point of view and suggestions.
2) When providing the feedback, I watch body language that would demonstrate acceptance and ensure that all involved have an action plan in place.
3) I adhere to consistent follow-up and accountability - is the utilization evident? Changes made? On track? What are the consequences?
Hope this helps, thanks!
