School Requirements
I've had many students not listen to the tuition in the conversation and I've found that the enrollment agreement helps to tie them down a little more.
In my experience, the college I attended had a mandatory class for potential students where we were required to take a quiz at the as evidence that we were paying attention.
I think that a lot of students get excited about being in college and they overlook the price. It is important for it to be in writing so they can have a record for themselves.
The communication is important for the studnet to understand all policies.
It also seems like with Financial Aid people might not care as much for the price now because it'll be something in the future. Having an enrollment aggreement helps it be more meaningful now.
Kurt,
That is a very good point. Seeing the price upfront makes the aware of the committment they are enterinig into.

The enrollment agreement definitely gives the student a better understanding of what the financial commitment is going to be. A lot of times, when a student is enrolling in school they are on information overload. They don't always retain all of the information that has been given to them.
The enrollment agreement seems to give the student one last overview of what they are agreeing to and what is available for them. I feel like it is also good for the student to be able to have a copy to keep in their records as a quick reference when questions arise for them down the road.
The enrollment agreement does help with this but also your financial aid department can provide support!! ;-)
While doing my presentations in the classrooms, i've had alot of students engage about specific numbers regarding tuition. It can be a tricky situation, as i've been instructed not to give exact numbers, but for example, numbers per credit hour. Does anyone have any comments/suggestions towards this?
If in doubt about an answer to a student's financial aid question, it is always best to get the answer from the financial aid department rather than saying the wrong thing.
