Listening

I think listening is a large part of the interviewing process.

Listening is extremely important when interviewing someone. This ensures that the students know that they have your full attention and that you care. Listening gives you the chance to learn everything needed about the student and give informed comments, suggestions, and ask quality questions that stay on topic.

Listening is a hugely important part of the interview process, just as much so as us speaking. Listening to what the interviewie has to say and to respond will make them feel like they're being listened to. Breaking down someones wall to get the best and most correct information is crucial and listening is a major step in doing so.

I agree that listening is such an important aspect or the interview process, but I also believe that asking the right type of questions will help too. Being able to probe the students into giving you the necessary information can be an important tool along with listening.

When you take the time to listen to a student it shows that you take an interest in them and that their not just another "student" to you. I always take the time to say hello and ask each student how they are doing. To me it shows I care and lets them know their special. For me that's important!

As an Admission Support Rep, dynamic communication is vital in providing proper information for our prospective students, and to set realistic expectations for them as they visit our campus. We must raise the bar on our listening skills to best determine their individual needs.

Listening to a student is very important. When you are talking to a student, you have to listen to the key points to find out what motivates them. This will help you with assisting the student with achieving their goals.
