Benefits of Accrediation

I believe going to a school that has accreditdation gives the potential student alot more ability to transfer to another school if they needed to.

I do not agree with this statement. The reason is because it is up to the receiving school as to what credits are transferable or not.

I agree with this statement. In Ohio accreditation is very important especially in the medical field\. This is a loud statement for the medical student and they are able to transfer from a career college to a community college to obtain associate. Credits transfer over to allow the student to complete a program and become employed while continuing to school to complete a degree.

I agree and disagree. Going to a school that is accredited is great but having to dictate regional and national accreditation is confusing. Most individuals are unaware of the difference.

Because we live in an area that with many large state schools, most our potential students think that we are not accredited because we are a nationally accredited school and the larger schools are regionally accredited. Most of the regionally accredited schools will not accept nationally accredited credits. I am obligated to tell them flat out that our credits are not designed to transfer into a four year college, but it's always up to the receiving institution to make the decision regarding transfer of credits.

The reason I believe that it is a great benefit to be accredited by an accrediting body, is that it gives so much more credibility to your education. Accrediting agencies set the bar very high, and the expectation to maintain a high standard of education and integrity is key. I don't believe it is so much about transferring of credits. Each institution has it's own set of policies for this procedure.

Benefits of accrediation is very important to a perspective student. This gives them confidence that a institution has done what is necessary for the College to give them a proper education.
