Yes and continues to do so as well as other things to improve customer satisfaction
you want your students to be sucessfull always
We have placement exams that allow us to know students that need a Prep course in order to thrive in their desired program. We also have the graduation and placement rates as part of our enrollment agreement. These steps as well as a detailed interview allow us to make sure students are qualified for our courses and will benefit from the training.
Absolutely! We are trained to ask extensive education background questions to ensure that a student can be potentially successful.
We have an admissions test, but we are also using a test after they start to evaluate where they are at in their education related skills. If we have an understanding of where they are in their educational journey, it offers us a better understanding of their needs. That tells us whether they'll need more tutoring etc. So that they can meet their educational goals.....Which are usually associated with their employment goals.
There is an entrance exam to make sure the students have the necessary skills to complete the program. Also, more general education classes have been added to the program so that students will be more likely to succeed once they are in the workforce. This way they will be able to understand what they are doing instead of just how to do it.
In working in Admissions Support,we try to ask specific questions to ensure our students have obtained the necessary H.S diploma or GED in order to attend college.
Does anyone have any placment test(not admission test) recommendations? Or success stories?
We have added a second interview however, this is an area we continue to stuggle with. What are some good ideas to improve in this area?
We currently offer tutoring for students who are registered. However, offering tutoring for those taking the math assessment (pre registration)is not a bad idea. Im sure it will refresh their memory and help them to score higher and for others it may help them determind which area they want to study.
We have added more behavioral-based interview questions to our admissions interview. The interview has become a key factor in our process.
We have not made any modifications with our admissions because our admissions process is already very extensive. We require multiple appointments that include tours and meeting with all staff. During this process we decide if the student is a good fit for us and if we're a good fit for the student.
I agree. Letting the student know that you are there for them as a support system to guide them to be successful
We haven't really changed our admissions requirements, but the process of verifying high school diplomas has definitely changed a bit. Our placement has been pretty good lately. If those rates were to go down a bit, I've often wondered if we would adjust our admissions requirements.
The biggest change we have made has been with attendance. The requirements were recently changed and are now a bit more strict, which I think is a great thing.
The institution that I work for has entrance assessments and I think every school should have them. If we are really interested in what is best for the student, they are necessary. It's not that any school is trying to disqualify a student but we also need to make sure that a student will be able to complete the coursework and program, no one should be set up for failure from the beginning.
We have an in depth interview process with each individual student to make sure that they fit the requirements for admissions and to education them on the career they are getting into.
Our campus has an assessment we give to seee their level of reading, writing and math. It is a guide for sucessfullness.
Our school has implemented a free tutoring program which has been very effective. Students can attend these classes by choice, or are recommended to go if they are failing a class to help bring their grades up.
We have an assessment that each student has to pass to enroll in classes.
making checklist for our students and meetings with our Director of admissions before enrolling is what our modification process is.
