With financial being the one thing students dread when it comes to attending school all three items are key to achieving a good relationship with the student. If my job is done with those three in mind the student will be at ease and more likely to succeed. There is no such thing as taking too much time with a student or bending over backwards for them. I am here to give them the best college experience I can and will do so by making sure all three are important to every student.

It is important to understand the mind-set of your students and recognize that Financial Aid may seem harmless to us (since we do it everyday all day long); however, it can be overwhelming to students. A good relationship with your student and placing the student at ease is very important. All three items have an important place in meeting the needs of the studnet.

I think that the most important item to our process is accuracy, because being inaccurate can cause the school to have to return funds, the student to have to pay more than they were originally told and planned for. This can make students very unhappy which could be considered bad service. No matter how you strive for total accuracy you will never acheive it but you can certainly limit errors. I feel that timeliness is also very important and is a part of accuracy as having to redo documents is very time consuming.

It is difficult for most people to be absolutely committed to which one is more important since both timeliness and accuracy plays an important role in servicing students. I always recommend that each task that one undertakes be evaluated and processed according to that specific task. There will be times that accuracy will require more focus and timeliness will have to take a backseat; however, there should never be a time that accuracy must be sacrificed.

I think all three are very important. Timeliness so you dont loose the student. Accuracy so the student and school is serviced properly and Service so that the student is happy.

You are correct all three aspects are important to servicing your students. There is not a correct answer since each item really is only successful if all 3 are present. It is extremely important to timely process your students to insure that their funding is available as they have a need.

I believe accuracy. When a student initially sits with me it is important to provide them with accurate and correct information. In dealing with monetary matters, accuracy makes the student/prospect more comfortable and easier to work with. The moment a mistake is made or calculations and explanations seem inaccurate you are in jeopardy of losing the student's trust.

I am in complete agreement with you about making a mistake and how one error may affect your students confidence in you and the FA process. The key to any successful process is to balance the important aspects and to know which one is more important at different points. Absolutely, in an environment which is stressful, such as going to school it is our responsibility to ease the financial aspect for the student.

All are important the financial aspect is an important part of education and it is critical to the student that we provide accurancy, timeliness and serice to all students.

Applying to college may be stressful to students and it is necessary to work with the students to ease any apprehension toward the overall process of enrollment. In addition to this stress, there will be the stress associated with Financial Aid. Most students have little knowledge of the process and anything that reduces the lack of knowledge will increase the student's comfort-level with the process. The smoother and more confident the FA staff appears the more the student will open up and get comfortable with the process.

This is another good point about the characteristics of Financial Aid and how each aid administrator should approach the goals of their office. It is imperative that all of the staff understands that accuracy and timeliness goes hand and hand in delivery of good customer service. All students deserve our complete focus on their financial aid process to insure the success of the student.

I feel all three are important. I want a student's federal aid processed as quickly as possible, but with no errors, that would cause delay.
I walk parents and student through the process of completing the FAFSA form. In my experience working with student's and parents, they are very grateful to the (FA department) for taking the time to explain the process and answer any and all questions they may have.

It is important to make the student and their family feel comfortable with the FA experience. The more comfortable a parent and/or a student is with the process the greater the opportunity for success. A satisfied customer is ore likely to refer others to the campus.

The most important characteristis would have to be the quality or service, as this would also include timeliness and accuracy. In providing great "customer" sevice, it is neccesary to not only work directly with the student and family, but to also ensure that they are receiving accurate and efficient care throughout the process.

All three of these items are essential to financial aid. We must process the file in a timely fashion to ensure that funding comes in as soon as possible to aid both the schools AR and potential bad debt, and also to satisfy the student that we doing everything we can to assist them. Secondly the paperwork must be administered accurately to comply with federal requirements and again to maintain the flow of funds. Finally we must make the student feel that they are the most important aspect, and not make them feel like they are being put through needless obstacles. The student is our customer and without the student we are nothing
