Carol,

Reports are a very valuable tool in the FA and Business Offices of a college, especially Exception Reporting. This type of reporting allows one to get to the heart of an issue quickly or at least provide some key indicators on where an issue may exist.

Sincerely, Chyrl

I believe that reports is help any financial aid department because we can keeping all student organized in order and give them accurate answers to questions about their financial aid.

Robertina,

Organization is an important part of successfully processing financial aid. All departments within the school should be mindful of taking steps to keep the processing moving smoothly for students. Reporting can be a tool to insure that organization is maintained.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

I have never had questions from my students regarding reporting. However, part of the enrollment process includes informing potential students about our accrediting bodies, including that without accreditation, we would be unable to award Title IV funding. I believe that giving this information to our students makes them feel safe and trustworthy of the school if there are Federal and State Agency who we report to and need approval from.

Very beneficial. I would say 85-90% of our students utilize some form of FSA and if we weren't doing our jobs our students wouldn't be getting the funds they need to get the education they came to us for.

Tina,

The questions from students on reporting is rare; however, it is important that your reporting requirements are timely to insure that you are in compliance with state, federal and accrediting standards.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Melissa,

Good point. If all is working the way the systems are designed requirements are met and students recieve their FSA funding. It is good to monitor your reporting to insure that your campus remains in compliance with all requirements.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

I beleive that reporting is very useful as it helps us find areas of need or of improvement at a campus level. Identifying oportunities in our processes helps us to better serve our students.

Sterling,

Good point that many miss - reporting is a good way to measure, identify and strengthen your internal processes. Any opportunity to improve the process should benefit your students. There are many types of reports that are necessary to monitor and insur the success of your students in other areas than Financial Aid. Being open to these opportunities is the key to increasing your success with students and other departments within the college.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Most of the reporting that is done for my school is done by corporate or our third party servicer. I think the reporting helps to keep things organized and accurate. It helps to ensure the students receive correct information in a timely manner

Reporting is beneficial to me because I know that the students are satisfied. They have the right to know what is going on with their accounts. This allows us to be efficient in our role and keeps the student in the know. With timely and accurate reporting, I am able to to tackle a discrepancy immediately. In the same token, notifying the student immediately so that they are not effected as much.

Tabitha,

Based on your feedback it appears that your Financial Aid Reporting methodology is meeting your needs to stay up-to-date and accurate. The most important aspect of reporting is for it enhance your process and not hinder. There are times that too much reporting can be a burden.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Without my reports I would be lost. My school has several different departments doing different things for our students. For example: Student Services does the attendance and grades. Which helps me to know if the student is eligible for disbursements or not. We have NSLDS which reports on students F/A. So yes without reports the job could not get done properly.

Sharon,

Recognizing and acknowledging the importance of reports is necessary when working toward success for students. It is important that all aspects of the student's process from awarding, disbursing and reporting are tacked and monitored. It is great that you embrace the set up of your institution.

Reporting is extremely beneficial to us as well as the students it enables us to make sure that the students are being provided with the highest level of service possible. It also keeps us up to date and accurate. This enables us to get funds for the students in a timely fashion.

Sarah,

Agree. Reporting will benefit you at the level necessary for success with students; however, you must use it to get the necessary benefits. Reporting does contribute to accurate and up-to-date processing.

Chyrl Ayers

Not only does it keep us accurate and up-to-date, it weeds out those who may abuse the system. And those folks make us all look bad.

FA reporting is very beneficial to not only FA but all departments. Our reports is how we keep records of all student funds. As well as being able to assist our students if they have any questions regarding to their FA. Everyone needs reports to be able to maintain accurate records. I know i have report for everything & i live by those reports. Without reports i would be lost & that is one thing that i need to be able to be a successful FA Rep.

Jenifer, Recognizing and acknowledging the importance of reports is necessary when working towards the goal of ensuring your student's FA needs are met. It is good to know you utilize reports that benefit your procedures.
