Stress
Learned alot about students and stress. As an instructor, you never really think students are stressed out even when you walk them through the material step by step.
I agree with you and I feel that the material is the stress factor a lot of the time but could be something we know nothing about. Home life, etc.
Based from experience with the school I was previously affiliated, the strees that I noticed comes from working students in addition to materials they need to read before coming to the clinical site.
I find that quite a few students that have been in the war(s) have a lot of stress, and bring it to school.
a way to deal with it in my opinion is to talk with them during breaks and give them some extra attention.
Any thoughts about how to manage that problem, Elisa?

Thats true, students who have significantly have dropped their grades , always or most of the time have stress related either from school or their environment. being an instructor, you are there to help them and or identify task that would minimize or relieved stress that would help them focus on their studies.
I agree, most students are stressed about their class work, homework, tests, etc. most of all the stress is home related issues, child care, expenses. We have an outside resource agency that works with the student with time management of their studies, possibly child care, etc. If they ask for help or we see the student is stressed, we refer them to the agency. it has worked wonders for a few students.
