expectations

I work at an auto trade school sometimes the sales people tell students things that are not always 100% true this is sometimes hard to meet their expectations

That's tough. Sounds like some oversight is needed. Our school is actually audited to ensure that things like that don't happen. Among other things, phone calls are recorded. If the school can actually be fined for creating false expectations.

Stacy,

It is always critical (ethically and regulatory) to articulate expectations correctly. Sometimes students perceive things different as well, which is why orientation should reinforce what is said in admissions so that everyone has a clear and accurate understanding. There is nothing more frustrating for students than finding out reality is nothing like they anticipated.
