intelligent heart
Intelligent heart really is caring and noticing other people and their feelings, actions and hearts. Paying attention to their reactions to what is happening to them in their lives.
This is a new term for me. However, when it applies to education in the classroom, having an intelligent heart can be very positive, not just for the students and school, but for the instructor as well. Especially as society changes, we can better understand our students' strengths and weaknesses.

The teacher with the intelligent heart sets high standards, inspires students to reach those standards and provides guidance an flexibility as our adult students try to ballance their many responsibilities.

I am going to utilize this concept with my students. I am going to empower my student to do better,and I am going to be more light hearted because I want to bring out the best in my students.
This is so helpful for me because no one knows what the student or staff and our co workers are going through each day. We must treat everyone with respect and empathy and give sympathy.
I plan on buying the book by The McArthurs. I belive applying the intellegent heart principles in my daily life will not only help my students reach their full potential, but it will help me as well.
you'll hve to excuse me while I sit here and laugh...Buddhism, or at least the paticular Sect I belong to, has been teaching this since the 13th Century.
