KENNETH SANIDO
Course content in the real world refers to the material and subjects that are taught in educational or training programs to help learners develop relevant knowledge and skills. These courses are designed with real-world applications in mind, preparing students to address practical challenges and opportunities in their field.

Since I teach VN students it is very easy to relate what they learn in theory to the "real world". Students attend Clinical in addition to Theory so instructors incorporate the teachings so they coincide with each other. Example, In theory students learn "Neurological Problems (Stroke). So in Clinical the instructors will have students take care of Stroke patients.

Since I am teaching in the Nursing Field, to bring "real-life" & "real-world situations into the classroom, I plan to use "Second Life". This is a "virtual experience". They have Mayo Clinic.

THank you Jay, I agree with you providing update information for the industry you teach makes much more interesting.

It is a challenge, one must balance what the real world is, but must also help to correct any bad habits that may have been picked up already. A difficult balance for the clinical instructor. Standards, but not harsh.

Making courses apply to real-life is so important. Guest speakers, job shadows, & job site tours can help students make connections to the real-world.

I feel it is very important to give examples and even do some role playing for students to engage in real life experience before going out to the work force. This can only help to ease their nerves and to increase their confidence.

Providing real-life examples and using the method of story-telling helps our students retain knowledge based on-visualization ad relatable experiences that paint a picture on the concept taught by instructors.

Your point of view is very interesting. I also consider it important that what people learn in any course, online or face-to-face, is useful for their daily lives.

Course content relevant to real-word work situations is important in the clinical setting. I a Clinical instructor and work closely with the lead instructor to ensure we transfer the classroom content to the clinical setting.

Making your course a real relevant workplace is essential to making your student excel in their future workplace. Excellent information Jay, especially researching changes in the industry once a year is a great idea.

I agree with Jay G. regarding needing to make the course content viable to the real world. Therefore, researching the relevance is a must before presenting.
