The feasability study was helpful information.

I think it is important to remember the use of graphics in online courses that can sometimes not be very engaging.  This module noted that students prefer color, sound effects, and action in their instructional delivery.

Good tip to classify discussion questions as assignments.

Good tip to send the students an outline of what the guest speaker will be covering as well as requests for questions for the guest speaker.

I think an important concept that was noted is that online student engagement increases along with interaction with other students.

Thought this was a good tip: Sending a welcome letter to students or posting it on the online course site at the beginning of the semester is a great way to start the online course off on the right foot.

Thought this was interesting:Online instructors/facilitators wear "four pairs of shoes" : instructor, social director, program manager, and technical assistant.

This is a good tip:Typically, there is a discussion board set up for students to submit questions. This allows other students to answer questions as well and possibly earn extra credit points for correct and complete answers. This also reduces the number of emails the instructor receives as students (peers) are helping each other.

This was a good tip:

Voice over powerpoint tip: It is essential that instructors not record lengthy segments of a lecture as they become too long and lack interactivity to keep students’ attention.
However, it is important not to "lecture" for more than 10-15 minutes as the recording then become too lengthy.

I found this interesting: Bringing students into the assessment process can enhance student motivation, interest, and performance.
