About me
This is my 6th year working as a college professional and I'm extremely happy with my career. It gives me a great sense of worth to know that the things I do impact not only the students I touch but their friends, families, and acquaintances for years beyond the time that student starts classes.
Activity
Social media is a beautiful double-edged sword. While it makes it simpler for us to reach out to students and make them aware of their options in education, it makes it easier for students to spot check the information they receive from various schools and trade notes on enrollment and service experiences without too much effort or direct contact with a school. While it might make it easier for the student to dive right into an application, that's not always the best answer. I enjoyed mine as well and wish that states other than Florida had similar state-specific compliance requirements. I think it would cut down on the number of enrollment shenanigans reported on CNN and other news sources.
