I learned how to more effectively communicate with my directors and to build a stronger relationship where we both can benefit. Learning tips on how to respectively disagree and to come up with solutions, are some of my biggest takeaways.
Greetings,
I assist a two Directors. One I meet with on a weekly basis, the other prefers communication through email. What do you do when you have initiated a weekly 1:1 with one of your bosses and they say that they don't think it's necessary? I feel it's necessary since I primarily work remote and there is information that would be easier to share during a 1:1 30 minute weekly or bi-weekly meeting. I feel sometimes the individual just doesn't want to communicate with people.

I plan to implement what I learned by writing down my priorities of tasks for work and personally. I learned that time management is the glue that helps us stay organized and allows us to get more accomplished within a given period of time. It also helps us save from wasting time and energy focusing on tasks that are not important and that are not going towards our goals.
I have learned from this module that to give an effective presentation, one needs to be intentional and be aware of their audience and the message their trying to get across. Also, being well prepared and knowing the topic that one will be presenting, are important aspects of presenting that the audience pays attention to.
I have learned that giving a presentation requires sufficient preparation, especially if you have to provide detailed information to a diverse audience.
Greetings,
I just started taking the FERPA course, which has been very eye opening. It's been giving me a greater awareness of what FERPA entails, which is great since I work very closely with students and alumni.
How has this training helped you?

Thanks Josa!

Hello Angela!
Nice to virtually meet you! I work at a for-profit institution, so we use a platform called symplicity to post job leads and to share with students. Since students/alumni have to log into this platform in order to check job posts, I typically send emails out for job posts that are relevant to students in a specific degree program. I work closely with sharing job posts with upcoming grads, and recent grads, which help me focus my efforts in placing non-placed grads and upcoming grads.
Posting job posts in our student portal is also what I do. I… >>>
