In some classes the goal, objective are outlined
for Instructous, but with this new information some adjestment can be made .Example pretesting

Pretesting give you clues as to the common knowledge of that particular student and how much understanding they have and how to add to their knowledge base.

I have the same experience. As an example, one of the schools I teach for have a Ph.D. degreed person write the entire course in Finance yet he/she did not have any business degrees and not even one credit hour in the subject. When teaching the course, I had to drop some of the items he/she built in and then fill those holes in with what should have been taught.

Luis,

To avoid courses with "holes" in the goals and objectives. It is important that a curriculum committee is comprised with both administrators and faculty, to ensure that accreditation and instructional standards are met, when developing the framework for a course.

Sometimes I wonder how in-touch the administrators are that write these goals and objectives. Because I find myself have to fill in a lot of holes.
