Yes, many instructors assume that the students, when they are in a particular course,know what to do but they dont. A well defined course with its clear goals & objectives help the students understand the scope of the course while lesson plan gives them clear road map and syllabus tells them what to do on reg basis. Its really important that things are spelled out clearly for the learners
It is important not only for the students but also for the teacher. I come into my classes with a large body of knowledge but it is unfocused. Having a good outline focuses me and helps the students get a better understanding of where we are going and what is expected of them
I agree. I find that I have been in my field so long I use terminology they don't yet understand and expect them to know more than they do.
