Review Safety Precautions
I really never thought about adding Safety Precautions to my course syllabus. Logically, I am responsible for knowing the safety precautions in regards to fire, tonado, earthquake, or other emergencies. I am well versed in these safety procedures, but it never occurred to me to go ahead and add them into my couse syllabus. I will definitely add this heading to my syllabus for future courses.
I agree entirely. Not only will the safety precautions be easily accessible to students for reference, but more importantly having this in the syllabus reminds the instructor to cover these procedures that may otherwise go forgotten the first day, when the focus is more on the traditional acedimic nature of a syllabus.
It is an under valued - but such an important thing to do
Jacqueline,
I hadn't either until someone pointed out that I need to have covered these areas somewhere in my introduction to the class. By putting this information in my syllabus I have met the obligation and I don't have to spend a lot of class time going over it.
