This is by far a great module the understanding of learning styles is something that will always give you the edge
Being a Graphic Design and Visual Communications instructor I find that the majority of my students are either visual or kinesthetic learners. However, I do see the occasional auditory learner but in the 8 years I've been teaching I've never run across a written learner. The reason for that I believe, is 90 percent of creative individuals would rather see it, feel it or hear it rather than read it. I do however assign reading assignments that involve visual stimuli such as examples of particular styles, techniques, etc.
Hi David - I agree, and it is good to ask our students to "stretch" a bit. That's why always striving to use a mix of delivery styles is the best way to go. Thanks for your post! Susan
These explanations of learning styles continue to "button-hole" people into distinct groups. It is good to recognize that everyone has different learning styles but as as an instructor and student I relaize that I have to stay alert to everything that may help a student learn a topic.
Once again I feel re-charged to think up new ways to hit all the learning styles.
It's also important to remember that not all my students benefit as much from the particular learning style that applies to me. This module kind of helped 're-ground' me as far as seeing (or hearing/reading/touching) concepts from my students perspective.
I can't agree enough,this module really explains the four learning styles and explains them in detail.

You're right Walter. Although it is probably unrealistic to ensure that every lesson addresses all the styles it is a good strategy to keep in mind when planning your lessons.
Develop your lesson plan to teach to all four learning styles to achieve increased student results. Teaching only to one or two syles excludes the other 50-75% of your class which has a converse affect in their performance.
it can be very enlightening for a student and really useful in improving their study skills once they learn the best ways for themselves to learn.
I gave my students the online asessment in class, they were very interested in finding the results as was I. I believe they learned what their learning style was also.
John hit the nail there. This information can really help to identify learners who need different delivery methods.
