Mark,
Good way to bookend the new content. You helping them see where they have been and then at the end help them see where they are going.

Milton,
Good way to target the learning needs of students. This way you can customize your instruction for more accurate learning.

On our web based days, we have our students complete quizzes in reference to the material they just learned. We then spend about 10 minutes on Q&A for review.

I like to think that review time can be fun and interesting - reviewing doesn't have to be dry.

Faith,
I agree. These of some of the most enjoyable times because the students get to show what they have learned through the review games and activities we use.

My class reviews after eahc exercise, test and topic covered.

I like to take the last 10 min of class and go back over important info covered that day. I do it by asking questions and letting the students answer. It not only sets the info in their minds, but helps me know what they understood, and what they missed.

Hi Steve,
A short review at the begining of the day reminds them how far we have come with a specific topic and gives the class a starting point for that day. I ask the class questions at the end of every chapter. I will call on a different person for every question. It is up to me to expand on the answer depending on the feedback.

I'll use no more than 30 minutes to review information discussed the day before, but als will take the time to spot check during discussion to make sure the information is being absorbed. If there are any confusions, I can usually get them cleared up at that point, rather than letting a student fall behind.

David,
This is a good way to keep your finger on the pulse of the class as you begin the new session.
