Navigational simplicity

Navigational simplicity is very important. I want the students to be thinking about and working with the material rather than having to focus on on where to click. From personal experience having to work hard to figure wher to click gets in the way of thinking about the material. Cognitive dissonance I guess you would call it.

Kirk,
You are so right. Too much time looking where to go takes away from the learning of material.

I agree with your thread. Personally, I ensure that students know exactly how and where needed information can be accessed in order to meet their academic needs. Providing this information through multiple methods (i.e. interactive chats, emails, announcements, etc.) also provides the repetition and access needed by students to become comfortable with the virtual classroom.
