It's good to know the uniform presentation of material through text.
I learned the importance of creating and testing a course module.
Using consistent nomenclature, i.e., learing objects, in identifying resources for use and reuse may help students locate and use said objects.
Consistency is key. While not every module has to be exactly the same, they should all be similar in length, font size, words, shapes and colors. Other modalities should be incorporated when possible to enhance the course content and reach all styles of learning. Creating a respository is something I plan to use in the near future with a catalog of file names for easier access.
Keeping courses structured and uniform will contribute to student sucesss. Students will become more confident and less frustrated when accessing course material.
Consistentency in developing templates as well as tes the templates.
Being the same in and out of the coarse makes it easier for students to complete the class.
Similar to coaching sports, being consistent in our expectations and goals is the key.
I have learned how important it is to organize the modules in the same way and to use the same systems throughour the modules. Making everything flow for students is helpful for learning.
Learning objects is a new term for me. I want to be able to talk about scaffolding, chunking and identifying learning objects in terms of online teaching going forward.
I learned that module work is an organized way for both students and teachers to apply work. The database is an excellent way to collect and store pertinant information.
i learned that it is important to maintain consistency so students can use the "cueing" to know what to expect.
I like the reinfocement of the chunking concept. I had read about it before and needed to be reminded.
I did notice the reference to flash which can be a problem.. Much of the authoring software uses other types of output.
Module consistency is key.
I plan to be consistent in the presentation of my modules to not confuse the learner.
I learned the importance of consistancy when it comes to creating an online format. This helps students find learning objects easily. Also, teachers can use outside resources to help develop the learning objects.
This module reminded me that font and size are an important part of presenting information in online learning. All students must be able to read the text in the course module. Text size should be easily readable as well as the fonts. things should only be in bold and italics in order to help emphasize important information. The module also expressed that font sizes, types, and styles must also be consistent across all modules utilized within the course you are instructing.
I have learned that consistency is vitally important in creating modules. I think the transition from face to face teaching to teaching online will be difficult for me. I have also learned that length of videos is important to keep the viewer engaged. I also realized that chunking content may be a better strategy than trying to cram too much information into a module.
Consistency is very important when developing your course framework and the units within it.
I need to make sure I create a Learning-Objective Data Base. When remote learning started this year, I saved everything I did all over my computer instead of having a specified file. It will make retreiving information much easier.
