I learned about some new tools I was not previously famililar with and their functions. It is important to balance the functions of the tool, learning outcomes of the course, difficulties the instructors and students will have with the tool, whether these difficulties are mild enough to still be able to achieve the outcomes, and the instructor's teaching philosophy.

I have learned about the technlogy tools available for use in online teaching and I will try and find out the ones that would best facilitate my teaching based on my teaching style

Technology tools in the teaching process are very important. As a virtual teacher I must choose the tools and match them with their function and the appropriate teaching technique. By doing this  I will facilitate my students the teaching process in a very effective  learning environment.

The instructor need to have a solid understanding and mastery of tools being used. And the tools used need to match the students capabilities and resources available to them.

I learned that there are tons of different online tools to use for education. If they are not effective or working properly we could actually end up hindering the learning taking place. Make sure to evaluate and ask the students what is working for them.

i learned that it is important to be somewhat experince in technology in other for you to engage a virtual classroom.

This section is Teaching us about the Different ways to use online teaching and sites to keep out students interacting with class. We have to make sure we are using these sites and different online sources corretly and knowing how to explain how to use them to the students so they do not get lost.

I liked the session about the different teaching styles.  Although I like my style, and it works effectively in F2F, I need to incorporate other methods to be more effective.  I also learned that videos and voice over PowerPoint should be limited to 10-15 minutes.  I'm not a video watcher, and my limit is 2-4 minutes, but I can make it further.  These types of learning tools need to be engaging, interesting, and able to keep the students' attention in order to be effective.

Not knowing that these technology tools are out there leaves you at a disadvantage. If a tech tool is not effective then you can research to find one that you like specifically. Seems to be a good aspect of online learning.

There are many Technology tools that can be used in online learning. The instructor needs to assess each tool and make sure it is the correct tool for what is needed. The instructor can re assess if needed and change the teaching styles used to better the learning environment for the students and their needs.

We were thrown into online learning abruptly, as were many, so it has been a challenge to use what we have and learn to expand that and make the most of it.  It is great to get ideas about more options and to consider how each technology might be used to further our learning objectives and enhance our primary instructional style.

I learned about technology and making sure the technology is conducive to the learning process. The technology should support, not hinder, the teaching and learning process.

I learned about many different teaching styles that I didn't even realize existed.

I've learned that the importance of technological tools in virtual learning are only effective if you're able to address all students in the class in "leveling" playing field.

After reviewing the module, It is clear that using multiple different technology forms is very importatnt. Research sources that seem to work best for your individual classes. Live chats are a great way to connect and students to be able to share their screen with you as well. Video is great, but sometimes just voice option helps students feel just as connected.

This module was a good reminder of the importance of critical reflection and examination of your own teaching style when determining what tools to use for your course. Just because your colleages are reporting that a specific tool works well does not mean it will work best for your specific course content, your student audience, or your own needs as an instructor.

What I got out of this module was that tech tools need to be matched with the instructor teaching style.  There isn't a one size fits all answer.  But that we're all capable to adjusting learning styles just as we can adjust tech tools because the more important part of the equation is that we can meet student learning outcomes (which I already knew was true).

I intend to apply the material by reflecting on my current class and how I can more effectively match the tools to my student needs.  I've already determined that the ones I'm currently using are not always the easiest for students and impede their learning.

Using our LMS canvas, I think I will research a way to embed comprehension questions into voice over powerpoints that I may give as lectures.

Technology tools must be tried in order to determine what works for your teaching style. A summary evaluation is critical in order to see what work.

Choosing ther proper tools for the proper needs of the students.
