To be effective as a career coach I must develop and practice techniques learned in the modules. I must also have an open mind and trust the process. When I am my whole self I can better support and help others. To this end, I want to encourage a growth mindset in others. Helping them to use positive language, focus on their skills set and have a good outlook on their career path may improve how they approve their next career goals.
Getting the employee to realize their strengths and obsticals allows for their planning to future goals from past experiences and knowledge can be a challenge. However, when practicing newly gained techniques and discussing those techniques with colleagues will allow me to fine-tune my skills to work with employees in overcoming anger, hate, resistance of the process in coping with their own negative thoughts. The goal of cintinuous improvement of my skills to help others improve under their terms.
As I read through this module I have learned how to navigate my fundamental abilities to make sure that I am using my skills like communication, and problem-solving when I am called upon. Also, critical thinking, and great teamwork in different areas of jobs.
