How much does goverment affect, How we use rention practices
During the course, little was mentioned about thrid party, in dealing with retention.
The effect of government regulations impacts all phases of school operation, including retention. Increasingly state and federal agencies are asking about completion rates and how much bang they are getting for their financial aid buck. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have any tools to improve graduate rates.
Jesse, do you have any thoughts about third party players could impact retention?
I believe that quailifing the student for the program would give the student a better chance to succeed. Now,you would need differnt levels of training, for those lacking any knowledge in the field of study, as you don't won't to eliminate students from participation.
Many institutions are introducing remedial courses to bring the prospective students up to acceptable skill levels. Of course, who pays for this is a major consideration.
This is so true in terms of some students lacking in basic knowledge to succeed. Some do need additional training before entering their chosen field of study. The trick is who pays for additional levels of training and how to set this up? Do 2 year school also need entrance exams that are geared towards measuring their skill sets?
