First week
It is very important that students due not miss anything in the first week. It determines if they really are taking school serious.
Samone,
I agree. Which is why it is important to make the first week a meaningful learning experience.

I agree, the first week their is usually a lot going on. Its also an important time for me as an instructor to get started in developing a professional relationship with that student to help them become successful.
My institution has set up a call list after the first day if anybody has missed class to see if they are coming into class or if there are any issues.
I have noticed the students who enrolls at the last minute or don't show up for orientation are likly ends up dropping from the program. I feel that are not serious about the program and wish they would do more research before they sign up for any programs.
