There are schools that are doing this online. It is not every day that they have to post. The way it is set up is that the two topics are completely separated. The student can post in both topics on the same day. For example, they could post on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and be done with the threaded discussion. They could then work on their assignment and submit on Sunday. They are done for the week unless there is a quiz.
