Leader vs Boss

It is very important to involve your team in any new upcoming projects or any new changes. When the employees are involved and allowed to give in their ideas, they feel valued and seen. This will make them WANT to be more productive not because they NEED to. Leaders will cross train departments so when need arises everyone is good to get the task done. Leaders, lead while bosses control!

Supervisor

Understanding what a great leader looks like is essential to becoming one. Knowing that leaders emerge will help you understand that someone can develop leadership skills and "doesn't have to be born" as the myth says. Listening to understand and implementing yourself into projects or situations for your employees is very helpful and shows great leadership qualities.

leadership

Anyone can be a leader because they all have leadership qualities in them. I never thought could be a leader when I was younger but now that I am older, I realize that I am a leader to many people in my life. my students are one of them because they see me almost every day and some might look up to me and learn from what I do. I want to be a great leader to them and lead by example.

SO104

I fully believe that everyone has leadership abilities, they may just need help developing those abilities. Truly building relationships and getting to know the individuals you serve as a leader is imperative in creating and leading a successful group. The same way that we have to build relationships with students, building relationships with those we lead is the foundation for everything else.

Considerate Leader

I think by demonstrating I can be a considerate leader will help my students feel more open to expressing any difficulties they may be having.  This doesn't mean I have to be buddy-buddy with them, but it allows them to know I am approachable and willing to help when they face problems.

Lead the way

I love the learning tab of being a considerate leader, I have worked for many leaders who did not grasp that concept and due to missing that that leader always had turn over often. The best practice I can say that has made me  effective leader is understanding that we are all human. Being able to have that boundary of respect and being considerate of others and managing that is what can make any leader very effective.

SU 104

When being a good leader, you need to know when to say "no", you need to be able to keep your emotions in check, and you need to be able to be there for your employees, while also keeping that professional boundary.

Leading with Influence - being positive and constructive for the organization

Today, I was reassure that management styles should not be all encompassing for supervised staff. I've learning that managers should take the time to learn their individual employees because they each bring a different benefactor to the organization. In such managers should always self-evaluate and reflect prior to meeting with their employees because often times the reflections and actions are projected onto their employees, and can lead to conflict, resistance or push-back.
