What helps students in being successful and assists them in improving their quality of work is providing feedback. As instructors, it is important that we provide feedback so they can always improve and master their course.
Feedback on any assessment is key for student's to understand course content and where they need to focus their learning efforts.
I love rubrics as they make it easier to be consistent with grading.
I thought it was useful to know what information we should be aware of in order to correctly break down a rubric so that it is both easy to understand and helpful to the student.
When creating assessments, it is important to consider Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy. Some questions may require that students demonstrate higher-order thinking to show their understanding of the subject/content.
It was useful hearing about the differences between the various types of assessments and forms of feedback. I also liked the details on how to use rubrics and the suggestions on how to provide feedback. As a result I am likely to switch to providing more than written feedback for some assignments.

Feedback should be consistent between students, grading based on rubrics, but all feedback should be specific to the student you're speaking with. In addition, you should be open to further clarification and discussion based on your information given and how the student receives it.
Feedback is always important to supplement learning however this can come in many forms. Instructors can provide feedback but peers and self-reflection is valuable.
